Ravens Win an Ugly AFC North Cellar Bowl vs. Browns
A Monday Night Football betting win is a win and in the most competitive division in the NFL you can’t underestimate how much a victory is worth. Needing to win the matchup to remain within two games of the division leading Bengals the Ravens did just that in Monday Night Football betting. And in the process buried any hopes the Browns might have had of salvaging yet another embarrassing season.
Cleveland put up a valiant fight. For just the ninth time in Monday Night Football odds history the two teams went scoreless during the first half with neither offense able to strike gold and both defenses playing awfully spirited football.
But in the second half the talent of the Ravens shone through with Joe Flacco marching the team down the field for a Ray Rice TD. Dawan Landry then intercepted Brady Quinn for a pick six and the first TD of the game. Another three points from a Ravens field and the scoring was complete for the night.
In a nutshell the Ravens did just enough to win and the Browns remain an awful team. Cleveland switched up QBs yet again for the Monday Night Football betting contest but results varied little.
Quinn completed 41% of his passes for 99 yards and 2 INTs. His passer rating of 23.5 was even worse than his predecessor’s (Derek Anderson).
Until the team gets a competent QB there is no reason for hope. Putting Quinn back in the starter’s role seems to signify that the team has already thrown in the towel and the rest of the season will be an audition for Quinn. He’s off to a terrible start and this will likely be his last season in Cleveland.
