Pats at Saints Monday Night Game of the Year

Pats at Saints Monday Night Game of the YearThere is no bigger game this week in the NFL than the game between the 10-0 Saints and the 7-3 Pats.  In fact, there will no bigger Monday Night football betting game this season than New England and New Orleans in the Super Dome.

This game is so big that it might actually live up to the hype. The teams are very similar in that they both run high octane offenses that put up a tone of points.  Both teams are lead by outstanding QBs as well with Tom Brady and Drew Brees promising to punish their opponent’s defenses.

On offense it’s almost a wash.  There should be plenty of points hung the board in this Monday Night football odds clash of the titans.  Both QBs stretch the field when the opportunity is there but they both make there livings dumping balls underneath as well to make up for a lack of between the tackle running game. Titans gut out win over Texans on Monday Night

Titans gut out win over Texans on Monday NightMaybe Chris Johnson isn’t all that crazy.  Everybody knows the Titans RB can run the ball like nobody’s business but when he started handicapping NFL games a few weeks ago and claimed that the Titans would rattle off ten straight wins the crazy quotient was upped to absurd levels.

Yet anyone who saw the Titans bull-doze their way to a Monday Night football betting win over the Texans has to admit, a Tennessee run doesn’t seem quite as ridiculous as it once did. After starting the season 0-6 there is absolutely no one could foresee a four-game winning streak but the team’s turnaround boils down to two key events: Vince Young taking over the starting role and Johnson emerging as the best back in the NFL.

Houston Bowl: Texans host Titans

November 23rd, 2009 Douglas Rogers No comments

Houston Bowl Texans host TitansOn Monday night football betting the former Houston franchise (the Tennessee Titans) will take on the current Houston franchise.  This is an interesting matchup for any number of reasons the least of which is the Houston connection.

Since re-instating Vince Young as the starting QB the Titans are a perfect 3-0; that’s a pretty big deal for a team that started the season 0-6.  The team will look to run its record to 4-6 in the Monday Night football betting, something that once seemed impossible.

Tennessee’s best weapon, Chris Johnson is putting together one of the best statistical years a RB has had in years.  He’s already broken the 1,000 yard barrier and is averaging 121 yards a game on an astounding 6.4 yards per carry.

The Texans must slow down Johnson to win this Monday Night football odds contest.  Stopping him completely isn’t likely to happen, not with his big play potential but if they can keep him under 100 yards the Texans will win. Read more…

Thursday Night Football the new Monday Night Football…Sort of

November 20th, 2009 J. Corens No comments

It used to be that NFL football action meant Sunday afternoons. And the games strayed into Monday Nights as well. And then into Sunday nights. But the evolution of the league hasn’t stopped there and now we have games on Saturday nights late in the season and there’s now even multiple options for week night NFL action thanks to the Thursday games.

No longer does Monday Night football betting dominate the week night wagering line up. In fact, the Monday Night football odds have been gradually losing their hold over the football betting public over the past few years and it’s no longer the grand event it once was. Read more…
