Clash of the AFC Duds: Ravens at Browns
Before the season started this might have looked like a compelling Monday Night Football betting matchup on paper but it reality there is almost nothing compelling about this AFC North showdown. The Baltimore Ravens have been a moderate disappointment at 4-4 and will have to fight for their lives to make the playoffs.
The Browns have been simply terrible and so bad at times that it’s almost unwatchable. So you can be forgiven if this week’s Monday Night Football betting matchup doesn’t send chills down your spine.
Already in the early Monday Night Football odds, the Ravens are 10½ point favorites and the spread could even widen out between now and then. If the week 1 results from the first time these two teams played are anything to go by, this will be a lop-sided win for Baltimore.
After four quarters in Maryland, the Ravens won 34-3. This time around there is very little reason to expect any different results.
After losing a defensive battle to the Bengals last week the Baltimore will be hard up for a win at home supported by tens of thousands of rabid Ravens fans. QB Joe Flacco is due for a big game and the Cleveland secondary looks ripe for a 300-yard passing day.
On offense the Browns will do well to find the end-zone even once, especially with a likely QB change in-store for week 9. The awful Derek Anderson will probably be replaced by the awful Brady Quinn who hasn’t taken a snap with the first team in more than a month. Double digits is not too wide of a spread for these Monday Night Football odds.
