Chargers Must Win Against Perfect Broncos

October 19th, 2009 Matthew Logan No comments

Chargers Must Win Against Perfect BroncosEven after wins over quality opponents in back to back weeks it seems the Monday Night Football betting community still has no faith in the Denver Broncos. At 6-0 they are the Rodney Dangerfield’s of the NFL and as 3½ point underdogs in their AFC West match up with the Chargers tonight, they still can’t get no respect.

But with San Diego playing at home and desperately needing a win to cultivate any hope of a post season berth the Chargers look like the favorite in this case. Nothing against the Broncos but it does seem like they’re living on borrowed time.

Not that the Broncos aren’t a good team but it’s hard to believe that this team will go 6-0 and the first blemish on the record will likely come in this week’s Monday Night Football betting. Read more…

The Favre Bowl I: Packers at Vikings

October 5th, 2009 Matthew Logan No comments

The Favre Bowl I Packers at VikingsAs with anything that Brett Favre participates in, the Monday Night Football betting game this week will be so tremendously hyped up that it will be almost impossible for the action to live up to the buildup. But this is an exciting Monday Night Football betting match up without or without the Favre hype factor as two division rivals, both gunning for the NFC North title duke it out in the Metrodome.

Packers fans still haven’t forgiven Favre for wanting to continue to play football instead of accepting a front office endorsement deal with the Packers. Go figure. The thing that’s almost always forgotten in this discussion is that Green Bay told Favre he wasn’t wanted, not the other way around.

Be that as it may, Favre is now on his third team in three seasons and trying to keep his team perfect after the Monday Night Football odds. The Minnesota run defense is a monster and the front seven get great penetration. Read more…

Carolina Drooling For First Win on Monday

Carolina Drooling For First Win on MondayThe defending NFC South champs are up against the ropes and must get a win at home in Monday Night Football betting against the Dallas Cowboys to avoid the franchise’s first 0-3 start in over a decade. Despite blowing a lead at home last week against the Giants the Cowboys are no slouch and Carolina will have to its best game of the season so far if it wants’ to get in the win column.

Monday Night Football betting gives both of these teams a chance to show their worth as they have been rotten on defense so far this year, giving up loads of points and putting almost no pressure on the QB. Opponents have scored at will and tonight should be a very high scoring affair. The Over/Under in the Monday Night Football odds is 47½ points which seems about right. Read more…

Dolphins Come Up Short in Monday Night Opener

September 23rd, 2009 Matthew Logan No comments

Dolphins Come Up Short in Monday Night OpenerFor all the glitz and glamour that the Miami Dolphins managed to package into their ‘orange carpet’ opening on Monday night, it all meant little from a Monday Night Football betting perspective as the ‘Fins dropped to 2-0 in a 27-23 loss to the Indianapolis Colts.

Just as the Monday Night football betting lines predicted the visitors came in and stole a victory by the slimmest of margins. Peyton Manning was perfect when he had to be and his inexperienced receivers stepped up and made huge plays down the stretch to seal the win.

And all across south Florida fans were left to weep at what might have been. Read more…

MONDAY NIGHT DOUBLE HEADER: CHARGERS AT RAIDERS

September 14th, 2009 Matthew Logan No comments

oakland-raiders-ticketsIf you love Monday Night Football betting then you’ll love this Monday’s season opening double header edition. In game two the weakest division in football will be on exhibition when the Oakland Raiders host the San Diego Chargers. While most fans on the East coast will be fast asleep by the time this thing finally ends it should be great entertainment for insomniacs and the Left Coast fans.

Oakland has plumbed new depths of ineptitude over the past five years and if weren’t for the Detroit Lions this team would be the laughing stock of the league. But this year’s squad –inept as it may be- is not without talent. So long as the coaches can focus on game planning for Monday Night Football betting instead of knocking each other out, this team has a chance to surprise some people. Read more…
